Trigger Warnings for Takasugi Shinsuke and the Gintama series are as follows:

While Gintama is a shounen-genre comic, essentially a Bakumatsu Era AU in which aliens land in Japan instead of, you know, foreigners, Takasugi is the future villain of the series who is shrouded in extremely unfortunate circumstances (not to mention he's just a bit of a douchebag), and many topics may distress other players. If something comes up that you are uncomfortable with OOCly, simply contact me! We can work around it. Please always remember that this character's thoughts, opinions, and actions do not reflect mine, the player.
Concerning fourth-walling, Gintama is a huge parody and fourth-wall series; all of the characters are completely aware of their existence within an anime/manga and are even aware of their creators and the processes that go into their creation. They often make fun of other canons, celebrities, and even American politicians, usually bleeping out titles and names or merely making ridiculous parodies of them ("Ichigo" from
BLEACH! becomes "Mango" from
STAIN!, that kind of thing).
However, excluding perhaps one arc (poll ranking), Takasugi is one of the very few characters completely impervious to this.
For the sake of honoring the work,
fourth-walling may happen only rarely and with the intended comedic relief, but it will not be a staple of this character. So for those of you who have heard of Gintama and might be shying away from it because of this, have no fear. This character hardly knows how to not be serious. The slim fourth-walling that does happen will be very passive and likely only with those he, as a character, and I, as a player, are comfortable.
As for
romance & smut, I play Takasugi as mostly an asexual, aromantic borderline-sociopath in canon situations (meaning PSLs can go any direction!). With chemistry and development, it
could happen, but it's unusual enough that giving it a blanket "no" is much easier. I
am open to shipping in games, just be aware it'll take a lot of development on his part since he's super entangled in his own problems and goals, and if someone has a one-sided attraction to him, he
will manipulate it to his benefit. Not to mention
any ship with him is likely to be toxic, obsessive, and possibly abusive. My strong
preference is cross-canon, and
both m/m and m/f are fine. I'm completely open to self-indulgent shipping in PSLs though, so don't hesitate to ask on that front!
