Ⓔ Ⓙ Ⓜ ♛ ☂ ☣ ... ❤where to even start. takasugi has done everything in his power to resist, reject, and refuse gaius's extended hand at every single turn. he's cut him apart, spat in his face, lied to him and told him the truth, and the thief just refuses to budge. a complicated and winding history full of mistakes and scars litter both sides, and neither of them have a clue how deep this rabbit hole really goes. gaius refuses to let him suffer alone even if it means he gets hurt instead, and it's taken takasugi a long, long time and plenty of blunders to realize just how deep his affections are. the pact they've entered certainly isn't one of equality, and takasugi frequently uses gaius's own emotions against him as he tries to figure out what to do with his, what he wants out of this, and how to proceed in a way that seems beneficial -- but he gets caught up and swept away with it way too easily for his liking. he likes to be noticed. he likes the attention. he likes gaius telling him how special he is, and he finds the loyalty he's promising difficult to see as unappealing. gaius has taken takasugi's own words and used them against him, refreshing his challenges, welcoming and even revelling in his anger, and teaching him new things to slake his boredom. the amount of time they spend together passes with shocking quickness: vacations littered with corpses, gifts wreathed with alcohol, promises bitten out. he'll never leave him, he'll join the kiheitai, he'll never hurt him "like that" again -- but the real treasure comes from how... he can genuinely manage to pull Takasugi out of his tunnel vision. to focus on "now" and "the present" (現在) instead of obsessing over the future or the past, to be in exactly this moment. it's small and sometimes fleeting but it's growing slowly and steadily.

| LUKAS JAKEN E'RENAZ
Ⓔ Ⓙ ♛ ☂lukas first piqued takasugi's interest due to his connection with two others he knew, irie and cruril, and it was for this reason he began to get to know him -- but after extended exposure and proximity, he's... come to be one of his favorite people to talk to. while lukas puts up a smiling front, he's actually just a terrible person in enough ways that they can bond over it. they share similar cultures and views on it (with, of course, a few exceptions) as well as a fondness towards recreational drug use, and lukas has even taken him back to his home world for traditional festivals, introduced him to his siblings, and begun to try to teach him magic after a few body experiments. they both have respectful boundaries towards each other, even if those things are beginning to be mutually tested. some new revelations during one of takasugi's bouts as madman are lending to shifting tides: for better or worse.

Ⓔ ❀ ♛while takasugi has known many incarnations of church, this is the only one he'd consider close. it was no secret first meeting the blue soldiers involved a ton of misguided projection, seeing plenty of himself in church (the 'broken one'), and encouraging -- often threatening -- tucker to make sure he took care of him, but neither of them seem to mind. the urge to keep him sane and put together has slowly moved from selfish to genuine the more he's gotten to know him and the closer they've become. he still frequently keeps him at arm's length, but the man's easygoing nature, casual racism, flippant attitude, and gruff exterior have earned him an acknowledgment as a friend. |
| LAVERNIUS TUCKER
Ⓔ ☣ the other half of the blue married duo. takasugi knows tucker largely as a tangent to church and it's clear where his priorities and loyalties lie. his hesitation to let tucker in any closer at all is almost entirely tied in to simply hating romance and what it does to people, and he's untrusting of tucker's ability to protect and satisfy his partner. all of that is repressed and internalized, of course, for the very same reason. a crude personality revolving heavily around lewd jokes and sexual attraction to aliens doesn't help his case either, but hey. he's important to a person who is important to him; he'll make due. in the meantime, his concern towards tucker's general well being tends to hedge towards genuine despite himself, and he's pretty firmly in the 'bro' category. |

Ⓔ ❀ ☣ for some inexplicable reason, stiles one day got a wild hair up his ass and decided he should befriend the sourest-looking guy in the room, and thus began an incredibly one-sided attempt to do just that. despite knowing plenty about stiles and his life, takasugi isn't so willing to return the favor -- and at this point it might just be because it's more amusing to deprive him of it. they definitely have a sort of shallow broship that involves arguments over super mario kart, wrestling, weird gifts, and even weirder foods. also tends to use him for info/as a weapon against tony. |
